Unforgiveness …another one of those B.U.G.S?

Let’s take a look at the parable in Matthew 18:21-35. Take a moment and read this story. The King forgave the debt of a servant that was actually very large. Yet as the story progresses, that same servant refuses to forgive a SMALL debt of someone else. Of course, when the King heard of this transaction, he immediately rescinded the forgiven debt of that servant.

Matthew 18: 35…So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.”

Ephesians 4:32…Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Is there such a thing as unforgiveness? YES, THERE IS? And the sad part is that we wear it well in our churches today. You see, when you allow your mind to be stroked by Satan, there can only be negative and disastrous results.

Let me be very clear about the damage unforgiveness can cause!! Think of it as another one of those B.U.G.S ( Being Under The Grip the Of Satan). Our mindset should be that of Christ. We can’t win a battle thinking that we can say and do whatever we want without any consequences. Our human tactics are just that…human! They can’t stand against the wiles ( devices) of Satan and win. There must be a spiritual mindset involved to defeat Satan. After all, we are engaged in spiritual warfare.

Unforgiveness is one of those BUGS that put us in harm’s way. Our mind is captivated with the idea that we have full control by not extending forgiveness to those that seek it from us. Ask yourself…does this sound like a Christ-like mind? Let me answer it for you…Absolutely Not!

All of you that have found yourself expressing an unforgiving spirit…SAY I HAVE!

Now let’s do something about it.

Make sure you are using the correct weapons to fight against Satan. Don’t be fooled by your intellect when it comes to spiritual warfare. This is what often causes us to fail and interject our own emotional views in trying situations. Stop right there! You have fallen into the GRIP OF SATAN.

You have forgotten what was done to rescue your soul from sin.

We have an obligation to forgive each other if we expect to be forgiven. Is it not something we can brag about and say…” look at what I have done” I forgave…this gesture is not an act we can brag on or see it as our good works. You’re being FOOLED!!

Please understand…forgiveness was extended to each of us through GRACE. We have not earned anything. The price was paid for our sins and forgiveness was part of it. Christ’s LOVE was given free of charge.

The debt that was paid for us was one that we could not pay. In realizing that price, we can’t hold grudges or cheat others of a forgiving spirit. We all have fallen short of the GRACE of GOD. UNFORGIVENESS LEADS TO BITTERNESS OR VISE VERSA! Don’t be fooled by the devices of Satan.

If you are in the position to offer forgiveness…DO IT!!

Bitterness and unforgiveness are terrible seeds to keep planting…Offer forgiveness whenever possible…you will live a better and more complete life…the way God intended.

Will forgiveness be hard at times? Yes! But to be one that is unforgiving is to disobey God and ignore the greatness of His gift.

Be more accountable for how you act and express the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. You may be the only light that others will see! Be effective in sharing that light.

About Me

This blog was the beginning of social media posts created for the sole purpose of encouraging other believers in Christ. It really started out in mediation of how God compares us as believers to sheep in the Bible. I was so amazed by the comparison that I continued to research it for my own benefit. It was during that process that I learned about the damage a bug can do to a sheep if it ever gets into his head. This sparked a platform for all the things I, an avid believer in Christ, needed to share with others or rather anyone that would listen.
