Have you ever wondered why the appointed times to meet for church fellowship have become more and more insignificant? LET ME EXPOUND ON THAT!

You can probably tell from the title of the article that it’s not going to be pretty. And guess what…it’s not!!

Sunday School or Sunday Bible Study – Wednesday night Bible Study – Morning Worship – Evening Worship Service – and New Members Classes…all of these have fallen victim to the SUNDAY MORNING SICKNESS…by that I mean a sickness that started with Sunday Morning and has now spread to the whole week.

Ok let’s get even more serious about this. One definition for sickness is a disordered, weakened, or unsound condition. In this particular article lets deal with this definition to get our point across.

Sunday School or Sunday Bible Study seem to bring out the worst in some people or should I say believers on Sunday morning. The attack generally hits just before the time these events are scheduled to occur.

Some typical excuses are …”I don’t feel like going today”, “I’m not going since I don’t get anything out of it”, “It’s too early”, “It’s Game Day!” or “My kids don’t want to go today” are typical imaginary reasons of why making it to Sunday School Bible Study is not in the plan for the day!

This is called SUNDAY SICKNESS. Why So? I am sure Satan is having a good day when we blame our inconsistent church attendance on being SICK. This is another one of those B.U.G.S.!!

Why do I use SICKNESS?…the excuses that we use sometimes are disordered or unsound reasons for not doing something that will ultimately enhance your spiritual growth. Satan’s GRIP, the BUG that needs to be killed. It’s amazing that this sickness only occurs on specific church attendance days!! Do we not realize the GRIP that Satan has on us in this matter?

Jeremiah. 17:9…”The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?”

Remember Satan attacks the mind which also affects the heart!

If one really thinks about the process in which this feeling comes about, they would have to realize that just before anticipating going to a certain church function, they go into a type of severe and recessed mode (a sick feeling). One would almost call this depression…a sickness that one does not realize is taking place. Is this Sickness REAL?

Our minds are captivated to the point we feel less motivated to do the right thing. Is it a trick or are we allowing Satan to play with our thinking process? When we don’t want to do something we find convenient excuses to fit the occasion. Think about it people…its a sickness brought on by the inconsistent behavior of you as a believer. Mentally and spiritually drained because of these behaviors causes us to be spiritually SICK.

How do we get rid of this BUG? Or B.U.G.S.

First, search for yourself? Analyze yourself and where you are with God. Is your spiritual status deflated and you don’t know it? It is a sickness that you have and you can’t find the right place to put it or admit it exists? This type of Sickness weakens you and your walk with Christ. It seems small but choosing not to attend church or fellowship with Gods people are OUT OF ORDER! Satans role is to keep you in that state so you don’t get what you need to survive in this world of sin.

Hebrews 10:25 states…”not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Attending church is not a “suggestion”…it is ordained by God for believers. These are the benefits of church fellowship and exploring God’s Word:

  1. Encouraging each other (Heb. 3:13)

  2. Loving each other (1. John 4:2)

  3. Exhorting each other to love and good works (Heb. 10:24)

  4. Serving each other (Gal. 5:13)

  5. Instructing each other (Rom. 15:14)

  6. Honoring each other (Rom. 12:10)

  7. Being kind and compassionate to each other (Eph. 4:32)

You must read these scriptures for yourself… it’s not made up …its the inspired Word of God!!

1 Peter 5:8 …”Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

It is Satan’s goal to keep us from the process of learning more about the Word of God. We should not neglect to meet together, as is the habit of some. It would stand to reason that Sunday Morning / Church Attendance SICKNESS shows its face with the sole purpose of keeping you away from Gods Word. Please take a minute to process this!!!

If you have allowed yourself to be captive to this SICKNESS BUG as an excuse for not doing or avoiding Gods purpose in your life, then take some time to analyze the symptoms. DO I SUFFER FROM THESE SICKNESS BUGS (Being Under The Grip Of Satan)?

Ask yourself….

Have I lost that relationship I once had with God? Do I want to GROW and KNOW more about CHRIST JESUS?

Am I satisfied with this type of behavior?

Who’s making the decisions in your life… You or SATAN’S crew?

Shake it off and deal with the SICKNESS at hand… Make a change now before its too late and you lose your soul.

Let’s get it right so we can move on to bigger and better heights in Christ. We need each other!!

About Me

This blog was the beginning of social media posts created for the sole purpose of encouraging other believers in Christ. It really started out in mediation of how God compares us as believers to sheep in the Bible. I was so amazed by the comparison that I continued to research it for my own benefit. It was during that process that I learned about the damage a bug can do to a sheep if it ever gets into his head. This sparked a platform for all the things I, an avid believer in Christ, needed to share with others or rather anyone that would listen.
