SICKNESS …Another one of those B.U.G.S…

Sunday Sickness B.U.G.S. in another post, but today let’s carry things a bit further. The past few months have brought with it the overwhelming presence of sickness among the people of God. I mean families being attacked with sickness or individuals having to make drastic changes because of sickness. I am particularly interested in the impact sickness has caused on the body of Christ.

It is easy for one to say that sickness is a sign that you have sin in your life. This is a common statement coming from the church environment. Someone is clearly suffering from a sickness but all we can say is that well “God is not pleased with something in their lives” or there must be sin in their lives.

We fail to realize that we live in a world of sickness. Why? Our world is a sinful world. Sickness can be a result of sin but it does not necessarily mean that it was caused by that person.

John 9:1-3 is an example that sickness was not caused by something that person did.

As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

It is evident here that Jesus used the blind man to display the works of God. There was a purpose in mind for this miracle to take place so that it would show God’s power.

Let’s consider this: If God punished all sin with Sickness then every Christian that is sinning and every sinner would be sick!! It would be easy to separate those that are committing or living in sin wouldn’t it??

Just because someone experiences sickness in their lives does not put them in an isolated condition. Is this a convenient way for some of us to avoid dealing with the sick? Are we realizing we are powerless in this world of sin? Do we shun those that are sick because we really don’t know how to comfort or encourage them?

Yes, sickness can be related to individual sin but healing can be obtained by confession of that sin. When we violate God’s Law, do we not expect to be punished? Or certainly chastised?

This is another one of those B.U.G.S.

Sometimes we cause our own sickness by not eating properly, becoming a work alcoholic, not resting properly, bitterness, unforgiveness, abuse of our body, and not adhering it to the dangers of life (the simple task of wearing a seatbelt while driving) Self-inflected sickness that violates the law of nature. Things that we should avoid and know better. The common sense of life!!

Satan can attack you directly. Don’t be fooled!! The attack can be on the spiritual man by presenting Sin in its rarest form. But there is another attack we must be aware of and that is Satan using sickness on the natural man.

Don’t be fooled my people, Satan will attack your body just as he does your spirit and soul. How does he do this you ask?

Satan fights us daily in our minds; our senses, lusts of the flesh, and even pride of life. The attack comes both physically and spiritually. We must realize that Satan has no right to be in this area of your life. But he will try his best to operate there in the form of sickness.

Sickness destroys the body just like sin will destroy the spirit. The term “Disease” can be scary. Disease steals your health, happiness, money, time, effort, and strength. Sounds like something you’ve heard before doesn’t it!

John 10:10 states…”The thief comets not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…”

The source of sickness is Satan so it would stand to reason that we should resist it also just as we resist sin. Resisting sickness sourced by Satan is a spiritual war against the attacks on your physical body.

We must get in place and understand the spiritual warfare that is forming. You have the power to fight against Sickness. Whatever form it may take on…Put on your battle garments and prepare for the fight!! Take up the Weapons God has provided so sickness will not win.

God wants us as true believers to be healthy in mind, spirit, and physical body. We must take care of our bodies just as we desire to take care of our spiritual well being.

We believe and benefit from the fact that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. The ultimate gift of atonement for a debt that we could not pay. Jesus bore our sickness so we would not have to bare it!! Jesus, through the resurrection, confirms that we would also rise again.

Jesus gave the opportunity for us to worship Him freely and not be under the penalties of sin. THE CURSE WAS BROKEN!!!

We will feel and be subject to the attacks of sickness and sin. Yet, these will no longer carry the curse of DEATH. We are redeemed through Jesus. Never forget the price that was paid so that we as believers will live!

It’s another one of those B.U.G.S.

Satan doesn’t want you to remember or depend on the truth that Jesus has provided for you. His job is to BLIND you and destroy your faith. Fight the fight of faith. Become a well rounded and healthy creature of God. Know within yourself what place sickness has in your journey and prepare accordingly. We have no need to fear Satan’s tactics.

God still works miracles and wonders in the midst of an attack of SICKNESS!!

Always remember that in any war there will be casualties. But the war will be won in the end. We can’t take down our signs (belief in God) so that man can be pleased. Stand up and stand firm for the things you know are validated in Gods kingdom.

The curse of SIN was broken at the cross. You don’t have to live like there is no solution to Sin or Sickness in this world. The path has been made for us to conquer and survive the war in our spiritual life.

I hope this article has touched a part of each of you that will inspire you, even more, to learn how to defeat Satan and his tactics. That’s what its all about …the sickness starts when we don’t depend on God.

About Me

This blog was the beginning of social media posts created for the sole purpose of encouraging other believers in Christ. It really started out in mediation of how God compares us as believers to sheep in the Bible. I was so amazed by the comparison that I continued to research it for my own benefit. It was during that process that I learned about the damage a bug can do to a sheep if it ever gets into his head. This sparked a platform for all the things I, an avid believer in Christ, needed to share with others or rather anyone that would listen.
